China's New Green Revolution

It appears that the one-time challenger for the US's title of the world's worst polluter has had a green change of heart. According to the Guardian this week, China is making enormous investment in wind and solar power, with a view to deriving 20% of their energy from renewables by 2020.

It seems that the whole world is waking up to the threat of global warming and genuine action is being taken. Obviously minimising carbon output in energy provision alone will not halt global warming, but this announcement seems more important because it signals a psychological change from a major nation.
